Clarence James Gamble (1894-1966), grandson of co-founder James Gamble of Procter & Gamble, used his life and his own wealth to promote essential heath care for women. As a Harvard MD, he devoted his life to medical research that would give women an affordable contraceptive and assisted Margaret Sanger in seeding maternal health clinics throughout America and later, under Planned Parenthood International, throughout the world. With his own non-profit organization, Pathfinder International, during his lifetime he was working in sixty countries. Today, Pathfinder International carries on his work in over twenty countries in Africa, India and the Near East.
